Lady Hornets claim 7th straight district title

The Giltner Lady Hornets are in familiar territory after winning its seventh consecutive district championship at the D-6 meet in Sandy Creek Friday. 

The Lady Hornets racked up 119 team points to take the gold ahead of Axtell with 98.5 and McCool Junction in third at 59. 

It was a big day for Hannah Preissler, winning the pole vault, 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles and will compete in all three next week. 

Brooke Wilson won the 3200 while Sydney Janzen picked up wins in the 100 and 200. 

On the boys side, Kyle Phillips was a winner in the high jump while Dayne Hinrichs won the 100 dash. 

Additional qualifiers based on time would be announced Saturday. The Giltner girls are chasing a 5th straight Class D championship.
