Lady Huskies earn B-5 runner-up honors

The Aurora girls track team won three events en route to a district runner-up effort at Thursday's B-5 track meet in Lexington. The Lady Huskies scored 97 points on the day and finished behind the host Lexington girls with 108. 

Riley Griffith was a winner in the girls shot put with a throw of 41-09.75 while Tristian Kinsey won the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.53. The other winner of the day was the Aurora girls 1600 relay team of Emily Erickson, Cassidy Knust, Rachel Hunter and Kyla Carlson, winning with a time of 4:10.72. 

A total of 10 Lady Huskies are set to compete at Omaha Burke in the state meet next week. Two boys were added with their times from districts, including Ben Springer in the 3200 run and Nick Hutsell in the 110 high hurdles.
