Aurora's Maya Nachtigal sure got her steps in Tuesday.

The Lady Husky senior was a winner in the 1600, 3200 and ran on the winning 3200 relay team at the Central Nebraska Track Championships held at Grand Island Northwest in a meet that featured the best athletes from all schools -- regardless of class -- in central Nebraska.

Nachtigal won both the mile and two mile races in come-from-behind fashion, winning from third in the final lap in the mile while taking the lead to begin the last lap in the two mile.

The 1600 featured an exciting finish between two of Hamilton County's best as Nachtigal and Giltner senior Brooke Wilson were stride for stride coming down the stretch. Nachtigal edged Wilson by .24 seconds at the stripe.

Other area winners included Kyla Carlson in the 400 and high jump; Cassidy Knust in the 800; Tristian Kinsey in the 100 hurdles; the HPC 400 relay team of Logan Russell, Dylan Soule, Tanner Wood and Keaton Van Housen; the Aurora 3200 relay team of Nachtigal, Knust, Carlson and Julia Smith; Soule in the discus; Hannah Preissler in the pole vault.
