Loving Life group appreciates area's support

Letter to the editor
Dear Editor:
We are writing to let our wonderful community know how much we appreciate their support!
On Wednesday, April 10, we were able to show the movie “Gosnell,” at the 12th St. Cinema. We had a good turnout of approximately 50 people and over $275 was donated from the free-will offering, of which all proceeds will be given to Pre-Born. (www.preborn.org)
We wish to express our sincerest appreciation to the 12th St. Cinema volunteers. They were easy to work with, and such a great support and help the night of the movie.
We are a coalition of concerned citizens of Hamilton County. Out of the “Good Life,” which is ours, we believe that life in Hamilton County is especially good. Hamilton County has been blessed in many ways: first, we have good people and good families; second, we have good school systems, from one end of the county to the other; third, we have good church communities, which worship God with great love and perform works of mercy, recognizing that all people are made in the image of God; and finally, we have many natural resources, industry, and a beautiful love of the land, for crop and livestock production.
The Culture of Life has been under attack in recent months, especially with the abortion legislation passed recently in the state of New York. But when opposition to life, especially through legal abortion, forms such a hardened and defiant culture of death, are we not called upon to take a stand?  The Culture of Life serves the common good, no matter a person’s profession of faith, or even if they profess holding to no faith. As much as our great nation is one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all, so must we rise up to be a voice for the voiceless.
Our group is grass roots in the truest sense of the term. We have come together, as if by chance, except that we prefer to call it by God’s Providence. Again, we sincerely thank each of you who attended the “Gosnell” movie April 10. Your support of our efforts gives us hope, and endurance to persevere.
