Pre-planting fields are muddy, but there’s still time

With February rains, flooding and snow, the question of how local farmers’ fields are holding up has been an issue of potential concern as planting season grows ever-closer. However,with more and more rain falling, farmers and Nebraska Extension specialists don’t seemed terribly worried -- yet.
The main problem? Mud.
“Mud, that’s about the best way to put it,” said local farmer Dallas Troester, when asked about the current condition of his fields.
