Farm bill dubbed a positive for Hamilton County

On Dec. 20, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law by President Donald Trump and according to Aurora Co-op’s head of Government Affairs Dawn Caldwell, the signing of the bill came right on time.
“It is really unique that we actually got the new farm bill signed the year it was due. That has not happened for some time,” she said. “The renewal was done as close to being on time as possible. All the preliminary work that was done by ag organizations throughout the country working with senators and congressmen, as well as the Department of ag, went a long way to bring surety to farmers and ranchers leading into the 2019 farming season.”
