Alice (Colvert) Masilko

Alice Maude (Colvert) Masilko of Aurora, formerly of Lincoln, died at Memorial Community Care on Jan. 24, 2019 at the young age of 102. She was born Aug. 28, 1916 to George David and Daisy (Garrison) Colvert. Alice was the second of six children born into this family. She attended country school, and later graduated from Beaver Crossing High School.
On March 31, 1951 Alice was united in marriage to Ed Masilko. Ed was a bakery supply salesman. Ed and Alice owned a jam/jelly business in Omaha and Highway Laundromat on Cornhusker Hwy. After Ed’s passing, Alice began cleaning homes while caring for her sister Jare.
At age 98 she gave up cleaning and moved to Aurora. She lived with Larry and Jolene Fox until she broke a hip. After a long recovery Alice moved into East Park Villa where she resided until August when she got pneumonia. She spent time in the hospital recovering, later moving to Memorial Community Care until her passing.
Alice was a matriarch in this family. Strong and steady.
She is survived by nephews: Ray Bissey, New Castle, Wyo., Gary Crawford and wife Kathy, Republican City, Larry Fox and wife Jolene, Aurora, David Fox and wife Pam, Bend, Ore., Jerry Colvert and wife Deb, Bennington, Terry Colvert, Lincoln, nieces: Ginny Childers and husband Chris, Marquette, Barb Deines Colvert, Bellevue, and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents George and Daisy Colvert, husband Ed, sisters Virginia, Winnie and Jane; brothers John and Bobby.
As per Alice’s request there will be no funeral. As a family we now encourage you to celebrate her life with the memories you shared with her.
