Badura finishes 2nd at state golf

It was a disappointing end to the Class B state girls golf tournament at Quail Run in Columbus, where a steady rain washed out the second day of action after just a few soggy holes were played.

Aurora’s Danica Badura was three strokes off the lead after Day 1 action, which meant that's where she finished, while the Lady Huskies ended up fifth in a 12-team field.
After finishing second a year ago, Badura has had her sights set on state gold this fall and was on a mission to catch first-round leader Anna Boor of Omaha Duschesne, who posted a 74.
Badura had an uncharacteristic poor start Monday, with a double and triple bogey in the first few holes, but played even par the rest of the way and was within striking distrance of the lead at 77.
