Lisa L. Henk

Lisa L. Henk, 48, of Kearney passed away on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society - St. Luke’s Village in Kearney.  Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018 at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with Pastor Steve Shanno officiating.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 and one hour prior to the service at the O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Central City Cemetery.
Memorials in Lisa’s name are suggested to Start Over Rover in Hastings and Kearney Area Animal Shelter.  Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com.  Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.
Lisa Lynn Henk was born on June 13, 1970 to Duane and Janice (Hoffman) Henk in Aurora.  Lisa received her education from Central City High School graduating with the class of 1988.  She went on to further her education at the University of NE-Kearney, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Lisa worked for Valley Pharmacy during her college years.  Following college, she worked for Ross, Schroeder and Romanski Law Office as an office assistant.  Lisa then went to work for the University of Nebraska-Kearney as an office associate for 11 years. She also enjoyed many part-time positions working concessions at the Tri-City Storm hockey games, helping Expressions Catering with events and at Simm’s Shop E-Z.
Following college, Lisa was a camp counselor for the United Ostomy Association.  She enjoyed her time traveling around the country to volunteer for the association and helping kids with ostomies.
Lisa loved Snoopy and was a big Husker fan.  She enjoyed watching HGTV and the Food Network and loved to shop, as she was a believer in Retail Therapy. Lisa had a laugh that made you want to listen to her laugh all day.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister Jacy Henk and husband, Allen Thompson of Aurora; brother-in-law Rodney Graham of Hastings; and nephew Joseph R. Graham of Hastings; along with other relatives and many friends.
Lisa was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Gail Henk Graham.
