Aurora comes up clutch in five-setter

The Aurora volleyball team took advantage of several opportunities in the clutch, earning a five-set victory over Columbus 20-25, 28-26, 25-21, 15-25 and 15-13 in its home opener Tuesday night.

Following a fourth set where Aurora couldn't break through the Columbus barrier, the Lady Huskies led early but fell behind 11-7 in the fifth set. A couple of Discoverer errors and a timely hit from Lauren Feely cut the deficit to 11-10. Megan Snyder tied the set at 12 with an ace serve and a tip on the next point put the Lady Huskies out front. Paxtyn Dummer finished the match from behind the line with a curving ace to win the match.

Aurora will be back in action Saturday on the road in Kearney.
