Hampton village board reviews downtown maintenance program, annual budget

Hampton village leaders talked about ways to continue providing a downtown street maintenance program, discussed the need to curb spending in the coming budget year, reviewed ongoing drainage concerns toward the north end of town and approved the hiring of a new utility superintendent during a busy 90-minute meeting Monday.
Several local business owners attended the monthly village board meeting expressing concern on the issue of downtown street maintenance, which includes snow removal, mowing and trimming.
