Donald Liebhart

Donald Liebhart, age 90, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2018, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7 at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Pastor Jim Garfield will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Donald Roy Liebhart, the son of Willie and May (Mann) Liebhart, was born in Aurora, on October 23, 1927 and passed away in Aurora, on August 3, 2018, at the age of 90.
He grew up in Aurora and attended Aurora Public Schools thru the 11th grade.  Don served his country in the U.S. Army from February 1946 until his discharge in September of 1947.
Don was united in marriage to Ruth Irene Smith on December 7, 1947 at Grand Island. They had two children, Roger and Margie.  Don worked as a mechanic at Vetter Brothers Dodge for 28 years and Dangler Dodge for 5 years, both in Aurora.  He then worked for the Aurora Public Schools as a custodian for 10 years.  Ruth passed away on March 18, 2006.
Don enjoyed stock car racing, working on cars, camping and going to bingo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother, Glen Liebhart, sister-in-law, Lorraine Liebhart, and brother-in-law, Ralph Hescock.
Those left to cherish his memory are his two children, Roger D. Liebhart of Aurora and Margie (Michael) Gross, all of Aurora; 5 grandchildren, Christopher M. (Janelle) Gross of Lincoln, Bradley (Clarissa) Gross of Aurora, Heather M. Liebhart of Kearney, Nathaniel D. Liebhart of Hastings and Samantha Jo Liebhart of Kearney; great-grandchildren, Kaiden Gross, Kalli Gross, Krystin Gross, Kyler Gross, Jaylah Gross and Colton Liebhart.  He is also survived by his sister, Imogene P. George of Grand Island; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Sharlene Minor, sister-in-law Shirley Mackey, many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
