Hail, wind cause crop damage

Pea-size hail and winds gusting up to 80 mph combined to cause significant but sporadic crop damage Saturday night in parts of Hamilton County.
Philip Beda of The National Weather Service in Hastings reported that a storm cell from northeast of Grand Island tracked through Hamilton County towards Giltner just before 11 p.m. Saturday with wind gusts up to 88 mph recorded at the Grand Island airport.
