'Sticker shock'

More than 100 Hamilton County property owners are protesting their valuations after learning of a spike in assessed values driven by what the county assessor and area realtors agree to be a red hot local housing market.
“The term sticker shock has been used a couple of times to me to describe how some people felt opening their residential value notices,” Hamilton County Assessor Patricia Sandberg said Monday, the final day protests could be filed in her office. For a detailed report, see this week's ANR.
