Portion of Adams Street to be replaced

The Aurora City Council approved a plan last week to rebuild a 625-foot section of Adams Street with concrete after the existing asphalt street was damaged by heavy cement trucks during the 1st Street paving project.
Andrew Wilshusen, a project engineer with JEO Consulting, explained the reason for the repair work, noting that his company negotiated a lower price with Diamond Engineering to pour an 8-inch thick, 24-foot wide concrete street instead of patching the damaged asphalt.
