Preschool in short supply for Aurora

For parents with a child between 3 and 5, preschool is often at the forefront of the mind. Preschool can serve a vital role in preparing students for kindergarten, but parents in Aurora may have difficulty finding a program with openings -- or one that they qualify for.
“So we have a Head Start, which has criteria to get in, we have Aurora Childcare, which kind of has a criteria for preschool because you have to go to the daycare in order to be in the preschool,” said Jeff Sutter, Aurora Public Schools special education director. “Then our preschool (Aurora Preschool) has a waiting list for peer models. We can only allow so many in because we also serve students who are verified, so we have to have some room.
