Beef is what’s for dinner at Hampton Public Schools

Beef, it’s what’s for dinner -- at least that’s the case in the Hampton Public School cafeteria. The school’s Hawk Beef program kicked off in 2016 and is still going strong.
“Students are excited about the inclusion of real, local beef in the lunches -- twice a week,” said Hampton Supt. Holly Herzberg. “They can taste a difference in the quality of the beef and appreciate the variety in the menus that has been a direct result of the inclusion of the real, local beef.”
Adding local beef to the menu has even increased student participation in the school lunch program, according to head cook Lisa McNish.
