LeRoy Kleve, 86, of Central City, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home.  Funeral services will be Monday, March 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home with Rev. Doug McHargue officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

LeRoy was born on May 28, 1931 to Lawrence and Agatha (Schuele) Kleve in Cedar Rapids.  LeRoy attended school in Cedar Rapids through the early years until he moved to the Central City area where he attended there.
LeRoy married Jeanette Johnson on June 2, 1957 in Central City at the Presbyterian Church.  They were blessed with sixty wonderful years together.
LeRoy was a man of many talents.  He had worked as an over the road truck driver, a mechanic, a police officer, clerk at the local Gambles store, well driller at Darling Service, and for many years, was the local “washer repair man”.  He worked for twelve years for the Central City School System as a transportation officer - repairing and driving the school buses.  The past few years, he has served as the technician and helper for his wife, Jeanette who played her Cordovox in the local area.
LeRoy served in the Armed Forces and was a very patriotic man.  He was a member of the American Legion and served as Commander of Post #6 for eighteen years.  He commanded the firing squad for many veterans at their funerals.  He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served in several offices there.
LeRoy was a member of the Central City Fire Department for fifty years.  He was also an ambulance driver and an EMT.
LeRoy loved the outdoors and one of his favorite things to do was going fishing.  He loved to work in the yard and helped Jeanette with her flower garden.
LeRoy is survived by his wife Jeanette of Central City;  two sons Randy and Linda of Aurora;  Jon Kleve of Lincoln; two grandchildren Rachel Ann and Jackson;  two sisters Joan Craig of Orange County, CA, and Doris Dansby of Westminister, CA, and brothers Jerome and Verna Kleve of Fernly, NV, Danny and Carol Kleve of California, Larry and Diane Kleve of Phoenix, AZ, and many nieces and nephews.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Agatha, infant son, Mitchell Kleve; brothers Bob, Chuck, Richard, Carroll and Don Kleve; and sister Doreen Allen.
