Collingham strikes for Lady Huskies

One of the Aurora girls soccer team's goals for its sophomore season was to, in fact, score a goal in their second year of existence. It only took 20-some minutes into the first half of the opening match Thursday afternoon for that to happen.

Senior captain Bailey Collingham, who had missed several chances earlier in the game, struck from 20 yards out, bouncing the ball off the top bar and came crashing to the ground just inside of the goal line, earning Aurora's first goal in school history. The goal from Collingham tied the match at one-all with Schuyler, who went on to score a second goal in the second half to win the game, 2-1.

As for the boys, they spent a solid amount of time on the attack, but struggled to find the back of the net as they lost a 3-0 decision to Schuyler.

Up next for the soccer teams is a invite in York Saturday.
