Aurora state wrestling update

Two Aurora freshmen have punched tickets to the semifinals on the opening day of the Class B state wrestling tournament at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha Thursday morning. 

Caden Svoboda at 106 and Trevor Kluck at 126 will compete in the semifinals Friday after winning a pair of matches Thursday morning. 

Svoboda featured a forefit win over Will Grape of Boone Central/Newman Grove in the opening round while earning a 15-0 technical fall over Tanner Ostrander of Ogallala in the quarterfinals. Svoboda will wrestle Paul Garcia of Scottsbluff in the semifinals Friday. 

As for Kluck, he recorded a 12-2 major decision over Brady Fago of Lexington in the first round and followed that up with a pinfall in 53 seconds over Chance Taylor of Plattsmouth in the quarterfinals. Kluck will wrestle Kaden Vowers of Sidney in the semifinals Friday. 

Aurora's other two wrestlers, Seth Wonch and Carter Pursley, each were pinned in their opening round matchups and move to the consolation rounds Friday.
