TB scare in northern Nebraska reiterates importance of prevention

The discovery of a bovine tuberculosis (TB) positive cow in a beef cattle herd in Wheeler County Dec. 22 brought out the Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) veterinarians, getting the attention of cattle producers even here in Hamilton County.
The Nebraska herd was identified through an epidemiological investigation from an infected South Dakota herd.
