Hamilton County harvest picks up speed

Harvest is upon Hamilton County and with reprieve from recent rains the combines are rolling hard. Most area farmers have their soybeans out and are now focused on their corn acreage.  
“We just started corn and we are about 90 percent done with beans,” said Mike Bergen, who farms south of Aurora. “We were definitely delayed with the rains, but we are getting them out. There is still some mud in the low ends of the field that we’re going to have to go around, but we are able to get the majority of them.” Read more in this week's print or e-editions.
