Daniel Weeks

Daniel Weeks of Aurora, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at home at the age of 81, surrounded by family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 at All Faiths Funeral Home.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Beacon of Hope Church in Grand Island. Pastor Bill Rowland will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery at Scotia at 1:30 p.m. Military honors will be rendered by the Scotia Honor Guard and U.S. Navy.
Daniel was born to George and Florence (Beck) Weeks on Nov. 28, 1935 near Scotia. He graduated from Scotia Consolidated Schools in May 1954 and in December of that same year he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served his country from 1955-1958 active duty and from 1958-1962 in the reserves. He was honorably discharged in December 1962.
He married Judith Klinginsmith on December 3, 1960. To this union 4 children were born, Kathryn, Robin, Elizabeth, and Matthew.
He worked for his father-in-law, Max farming and raising livestock for 3 years before going to work at Redman Industries in 1964. He returned to farming and worked as a hired hand till 1969. He went to work for Harrington Feed Yards and became farming foreman. In 1977 went to work for Ace Hardware running the mower and small engine repair shop. In 1981 he went to work for Wheelers Farm Store. He became the head of the Farm Supply department. The company was bought by Country General and he trained and became an assistant manager. He worked for them for 20 years and in 2002 he went to work for Wal-Mart, retiring in 2009.
Although he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s he never let that stop him from being active. His faith was very important to him.  He was very active in his church and his greatest joy was his family and grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, playing cards, and his favorite game Qwirkle. Always with a glass of Dr. Pepper.
Left to cherish his memory is Judy, his wife of 56 years; children, Kathryn (Joe) Noziska of Grand Island, Robin (Kip) Moellenberndt of Aurora, Elizabeth Weeks and special friends (Jen, Ben, and Nick) of Omaha,  Matthew Weeks and special friends (Sarah and Mekayla) of Aurora; brothers,  Jim (Sandy) Weeks, Dave (Mickey) Weeks, and Cal (Joyce) Weeks; brother and sister-in-law, Lyle (Ina) Klinginsmith; sister-in-law,  Margaret Klinginsmith; grandchildren, Kody and Shelby Moellenberndt, Harley, Brandon, HaleighJo, Hunter, Braddon, Harmony, Hannah, and Keagan Weeks; 1 great-grandson, Damien Moellenberndt, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daniel was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Florence Weeks; brothers, infant George, Nathan, Luther and Ethan; sister, Ellen; and infant granddaughter Annie Noziska.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.
