Elaine Heins

Elaine Heins, age 87, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2017, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 13 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Karla Sheffy will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Elaine R. Heins, the daughter of John and Alma (Enderle) Weehler, was born in Loup City, on December 26, 1929 and passed away in Aurora, on October 8, 2017, at the age of 87.
Elaine attended school in Loup City and graduated from high school in 1947.  She moved to Hamilton County in 1947, where she remained a resident until her death.
Elaine was united in marriage to Emil Alfred Heins on September 25, 1949 at the Methodist Church in Loup City. They farmed from 1949 until retiring in 1986, when they moved into Hampton. Elaine worked as a dietary aide at Hamilton Manor from 1985-1997.  Emil passed away on November 13, 2002.
Elaine was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she was an active member since 1948. Elaine taught Sunday School for 15 years, Work Group Chairman for 10 years and served as Church Librarian and Communion Steward.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and American Legion Auxiliary Post 141.  Elaine enjoyed reading, growing flowers and her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda Heins of Hampton; son, Mark Heins and his wife Linda of Choctaw, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Darren Heins, Lindsey Heins, Kimberly Wright, Micah McGahan and Krista Hopkins; 6 great-grandchildren, Christian Wright, Clint McGahan, Tiger Hopkins, Teal Hopkins, Canon Jason, and Trinity McGahan;brother, Eldon Weehler of San Antonio, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
