Audrey Ellen Weedin

Audrey Ellen Weedin, 86, formerly of Grand Island, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at the All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10 a.m.  The Reverend Gene Arnold will officiate. To honor Audrey’s wishes cremation was chosen.
Audrey was born on January 1, 1931 on the family farm southwest of Aurora. Her parents were James Reisinger and Evelyn (Morss) Reisinger.  Audrey lived on the family farm during her early years and graduated from School District 87 in Hamilton County.  
On December 6, 1949 Audrey and Gerrald (Jerry) L. Weedin were united in marriage and were married for almost sixty-seven years. To this union were born three sons, Gene, Alan, and Ronald.  Following their marriage, they lived briefly on a farm north of Aurora and then moved to Grand Island. Audrey spent almost her entire life living in Grand Island.  In January of 2017 she moved to Papillion Manor in Papillion.
Audrey was a stay at home wife and mother and enjoyed sewing, making clothes, especially wedding dresses, and embroidery. She also enjoyed watching football, volleyball and baseball games either in person or on television. Audrey was also a very active member of the Assembly of God Church in Grand Island.  She held several positions in the church either in the women’s organizations or Sunday school.
Later in life Audrey and Gerrald loved to travel to McAllen, TX to spend the winter with fellow snow birds from throughout the United States and Canada.  Audrey made many new friends while in Texas. She was a member of both the Destiny Church of Grand Island and the First Assembly of God Church of McAllen, Texas.
Survivors include her three sons, Gene of McCook, Alan of Omaha and Ronald (Tamara), also of Omaha. Audrey has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Audrey also has one surviving sister Mary (Ray) Larson of Grand Island.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband Gerrald, her parents James and Evelyn Reisinger, three brothers, James, Oren and Aaron, and five sisters, Lucille Reisinger, Adeline Salmon, Ruth Shiller, Ines Oswald, Iola Lantzer. A daughter-in-law, Nancy Prosser-Weedin, also preceded Audrey in death.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Audrey’s name to the Destiny Church in Grand Island or the First Assembly of God Church in McAllen, Texas.
