Rick Bredthauer

Rick Bredthauer, 63, of Aurora passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, surrounded by family in his home.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church in Phillips.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 22 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Monroe Evangelical Free Church in Phillips.
Rick was born July 10, 1954   in Ord to Eugene and Alma (Simonson) Bredthauer.
He married Roxann (Barnes) Bredthauer May 10, 1975 in Ord.
After completing his primary education at Valleyside District #10, he attended Ord High School, graduating in 1972. He worked on the family farm until February 1983 when they moved to York and he began his insurance career. The family made their home in Benedict for several years before settling in the Aurora area.
Rick loved the Lord, his family, and helping other people. He had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed playing cards, golfing and working on vehicles. He was active in the church and was passionate about sharing the Word with those he came in contact with.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Roxann; their children Amy (Eric) Vander Woude of Lincoln, Chad (Megan) Bredthauer of Lincoln, Nicholas (Irene) Bredthauer of Felton, Calif., Heather (Josh) Dick of Harvard, Jared Bredthauer of Aurora, Morgan (Dustin) Schroeder of Lincoln; 18 grandchildren; his father Eugene Bredthauer of Ord; brothers Glen (Ramona) Bredthauer of Hastings, Andy (Stacey) Bredthauer of Ord and twin sister Vicky (Pat) Hruby of Comstock, several nieces and nephews and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma and niece, Brenda Hruby.
Memorials may be made in care of the family.
