Roger Smith

Roger Smith, age 52, of Avinger, Texas, formerly of Aurora, passed away on, July 28, 2017 at his home.
A Family and Friends gathering will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, September 22 at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Inurnment will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Kronborg at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 23.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Roger Lee Smith, the son of Mark and Emma Jean (Hallbauer) Smith, was born at Fredonia, Kans. on December 5, 1964 and passed away on July 28, 2017 at the age of 52.
He graduated from Fredonia High School and worked as a meat cutter.  Roger was united in marriage to Christine Pacaj on May 7, 1994 in Aurora, Nebraska.
Roger moved to Texas to be closer to his mother due to the passing of his step-father.
Roger enjoyed riding his Harley over the years and hanging out with his friends.  He also enjoyed working in the yard and gardening.  Roger was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, his brother, Buddy and his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Christine; children, Sarah, Savannah, Seth and JoAnna; seven grandchildren; mother, Emma Jean Johnson; siblings, Tracy, Travis, Debbie and Donna; close friends, Steve and Mary Proctor, Mary Harris and Jeff Timmons; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Carole and Brian Policky, Povl Pacaj and Tatianna Pacaj and husband Chris Berka; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends who knew and loved him.
