Aurora graduate aboard USS John McCain

An Aurora graduate is okay after being on board the U.S.S John McCain, which was involved in a deadly accident at sea.
Eli Swantoski sent out a message via Facebook to let friends and family know he was fine.
The U.S.S John McCain was involved in a collision with the merchant vessel Alnic MC in waters east of the Straits of Malacca and Singapore Aug. 21. The incident is under investigation to determine the facts and circumstances of the collision.
“Some of you may know my ship recently took a lot of damage. I’m alive and well we applied our training and were able to save the ship,” Swantoski wrote. “I can’t say thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. Our brothers and sisters on the America have helped us out more than we can say thank you for. I also was fortunate enough to get to see a familar face can’t say thank you enough to Jarod Greenough for being a person to talk to during this casualty. My prayers go to the families of those we lost.”
