Glendora "Glenny" Bell

Glendora “Glenny” Irene Bell, 83, of Stromsburg, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stromsburg Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Kerry Relihan officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.  Burial will be in the Stromsburg Cemetery.

Glenny was born on August 6, 1933 to Everett and Lura (Davenport) Clausen.
She grew up in Peru and Chester.  She graduated high school in Chester.  She married Sam Bell on June 9, 1955 in Chester.  The couple made their home in Laurel.  Glenny was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Christian Women’s Club, and the Stromsburg Senior Center. Sam and Glenny have lived in several Nebraska towns including Western, Stromsburg, Albion, Coleridge, Exeter, Lodgepole, and Oakland.  In addition while Sam was in the Airforce they lived in North Carolina, Colorado, and Illinois.  Her hobbies included painting, pottery, reading, encouraging others, and volunteering at Focus on the Family and other ministries.
She is survived by her husband Sam of Stromsburg;  two daughters Melissa and Kirk Kunze of Long Pine; Jane and Bill Wernsman of Loveland, CO;  three sons James and Kris Bell of Lancaster, CA; Thomas and Shelly Bell of South Sioux City; and John and Adina Bell of Omaha;  17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters Claudette Slaughter of Pueblo, CO and Charlotte Brancon of Denver, CO.
Glenny was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Elvin Clausen.
