Geraldine Sader

Geraldine Sader, age 81, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017, at the CHI Health-St. Francis in Grand Island.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, July 2 at the Aurora Cemetery.   No visitation.  Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.
Geraldine Lee Sader, the daughter of George and Evelyn Verneece (Cole) Sader, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on Sept. 7, 1935 and passed away at Grand Island, Nebraska on June 30, 2017 at the age of 81.
Geraldine grew up in Lincoln.  The family moved to Omaha where she graduated from Tech High School.  Her first job was with the First National Bank of Omaha.  She moved to Burbank, California to work and be near her sister for several years.  Geraldine returned to Nebraska to work for the National Park Service in Omaha.  She moved to Aurora from 1977-1985.  Upon returning to Omaha, she resumed her career with the National Park Service in the Finance division and after 20-plus years of service she retired in 2002 and moved back to Aurora.   
Geraldine was a member of the Baha’ i Faith of Aurora, Prairie Plains Resource Institute, Joslyn Art Museum, Nature Conservancy, Ocean Conservancy, National Humane Society, Wounded Warriors, the USO, American Red Cross and UNICEF.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Deloros Sader.
Those who remain to cherish her memory are her friend, Linda Davis of Aurora; brother, George (Jane) Sader of Omaha; niece, Donna Simon and numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and many close friends.
