Chester F. Scott

Chester F. Scott, 96, Elm Creek, died Monday, June 12, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Home & Rehabilitation Center.  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services with Pastor Dean Pofahl officiating.  Burial will be at Elm Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.  Memorials are suggested to the Elm Creek Fire Department or the Elm Creek Lion’s Club.  Please visit to leave a tribute or message of condolence. Chester was born March 27, 1921 in Gandy, to Albert and Myrtle (Kelly) Scott.  
Chester married Maxine Bottrell on June 13, 1940 in North Platte.  They lived south of Maxwell until 1951, when they moved to Miller.  They moved to Elm Creek in 1954.  Chester has been a farmer all his life.  He was a member of the Sumner Saddle Club, and an honorary member of the Elm Creek Lion’s Club.  Chester volunteered his time at the B.L.M. facility north of Elm Creek working with horses.  He also enjoyed tinkering and riding around in his golf cart.
Chester is survived by his daughters, Connie Scott of Elm Creek, Linda Papineau and her husband Ralph of Aurora, CO; sons, Randy Scott and his wife Beverly of St. Anne, IL, Roger Scott and his wife Mary of Aurora;15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his wife, eight brothers, one sister, and 2 grandchildren Danny Albrecht and Adam Scott.
