Sharon (Sowers) Stiegemeier

Harvard resident, Sharon Jean (Sowers) Stiegemeier, 74 passed away, Monday, April 24, 2017 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings.
Services will be held Monday, May 1, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Harvard Church of Christ with Pastor Dave Johnson Officiating. Burial will be in the First Evangelical Cemetery, Harvard. Visitation will be Sunday, April 30, 2017 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Apfel Funeral Home, Harvard. Condolences may be sent to the family from Arrangements by Apfel Funeral Home, Harvard.
Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
Sharon was born, April 26, 1942 to John J. and Blanche I. (Hatcher) Sowers in Grand Island. She graduated from Hastings Senior High.  She was a bookkeeper for many years at Sherman Service Center in Hastings until 1970. She married Ivan Stiegemeier on February 14, 1970, in Hastings, Ivan passed away July 20, 2013.  She then spent the rest of her life farming with her husband.
She is survived by two sons Kevin Stiegemeier of Hastings, and Brian Stiegemeier, of Grand Island, three grandchildren, Chelsey Garner, Shailey Stiegemeier and Jaiden Stiegemeier, all of Hastings, two brothers, Alvin Sowers Sr. of Hutchinson, KS and Lawrence (Butch) Sowers of Hastings, one sister, Andrea Fisher of Hastings, four nieces and nephews, Lori Langston, Alvin Sowers, Jr. Jason Sowers and Chris Sowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ivan and two brothers, Kenneth Sowers and John Sowers, Jr, and one sister Sandra Joan.
