Lois Marie Lindburg
Lois Marie Lindburg, 81, of Hordville, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mesa, AZ. Funeral services will be on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Polk, with Rev. Irv Stauffer and Pastor Aaron Schmidt officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Solt-Wagner Funeral Home in Central City. Interment will be at the Lindale Cemetery near Hordville. Lois Marie was born on November 30, 1935 in Valley County, to Harold E. and Ruth (Jones) Miller. Lois grew up in Arcadia, and during her grade school years, her family then moved to Polk. She attended Polk Schools and graduated from Polk High School in 1953. Following graduation, Lois remained in the Polk area and on February 12, 1956 Lois married Willard Dean Lindburg at the First Baptist Church in Polk, with Rev. Elwood Anderson officiating the wedding. Lois worked for Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph in York until 1957 when she became a mother and homemaker. Lois and Dean remained in the Polk and Hordville areas, living in rural Hordville for the last 52 years.
Lois, as a teenager, gave her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ at a tent service in Aurora. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was faithful in her daily devotions and an active prayer warrior throughout her life. She was an avid crocheter, crocheting many afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her talents also included, embroidering dish towels, and mastering everything in the kitchen.
Those left to cherish her memory are; W. Dean Lindburg of Hordville, her children; Tom (Kande Jo) Lindburg of Hordville, Pat (Sam) Mason of Park Hills, MO, Luanne Lindburg of Dallas, TX, Bill Lindburg of Eagle, and Susan Lindburg of Lincoln, her brother; Gene (Norma) Miller of York, her sister, Karen Miller of Austin, TX, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Harold and Ruth Miller, and her mother and father-in-law; Willard and Ruth Lindburg.
