County’s valuation up 2.9%; ag land prices falling

The valuation of property in Hamilton County rose by 2.9 percent in 2016, setting a new record at $3.2 billion while also reflecting a deceleration in growth from recent years.
Hamilton County Assessor Pat Sandberg reported the valuation totals for all taxing subdivisions Thursday, noting that the days of $12,000 per acre ag land sales are over, which impacted the annual valuation report.
