Debra L. Brackhan age 56 of York, died Friday, February 5, 2016 in Seward. She was born April 24, 1959 in Henderson to Dennis Brackhan and Myrna Landenberger. Debra was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran in Hampton, and attended Hampton Lutheran School. She graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1978, and took classes at Hastings Central Community College.
Debra’s family meant the world to her. She loved when her nieces and nephews would come and visit her, and also enjoyed spending time with her co-workers, considering them a part of her family. She worked at Arby’s, Valentino’s, York General Hearthstone, and Wal-Mart all in York.  She had numerous friends and enjoyed greeting people wherever she worked.
Survivors include her mother, Myrna Brackhan Obermier-Staehr of  York, sister; Teresa (Joe) Fagan of Hampton, brother; Greg (Kim) Brackhan of Spanish Fort, Alabama, sister; Becky (Dean) Crawford, of York, brother; Chris (Melissa) Obermier, of Omaha, step-sisters; Anita Hall, of York, and Laurie (Roy) Houdersheldt, of Shelby, step-brother; Doug (Lori) Obermier, of Omaha, nieces and nephews; Kelsey and Kevin Vogel, of Wilber, Kendall Reed, of York, Corbin Fagan, of Hampton, Mitchell Fagan, of Hampton, Amber and Matt Olson, of Gothenburg, Sara and Matt Myers, of Omaha, Michael and Kaite Fagan, of Omaha, Kara and Nate               , of Hampton, Jacob Brackhan, of Mobile, Alabama, Meg Brackhan, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Shelby Brackhan, of York, Keagan Crawford, of York, Landen Obermier, of Omaha, Lauren and Ryan Bleach, of Omaha, Kiley and Jennifer Hall, of Sedro Woolley, Washington, Tyler  ………, of York, Amanda and Jon McAuliffe, of Lincoln, Elizabeth and Kipp Smith of Grand Island, Melissa and Edgar Ortegon, of Little Elm, Texas, Evan Houdersheldt, of Shelby, Brenna Houdersheldt, of Shelby, Rob and Theresa Crawford, of York, along with 21 great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis Brackhan (1974), step-fathers; Rex Obermier (2006), and David Staehr (2014), grandparents; Herman and Dora Brackhan, and Orville and Mae Landenberger.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, with Pastors Mike Neidow and Ben Kaiser officiating.  Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hampton following services.
Visitation was held from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, and then again 9 a.m.-9 p.m., Monday with family greeting friends between 6:30-7:30 p.m. later that evening at Metz Mortuary.  Memorials may be directed to the Lions Eye Bank, or to the family for later designation.
Condolences may be left for the family at  Metz Mortuary, York, NE is handling arrangements.
