Noreen Lynn Gould was born July 12, 1956, in Grand Island to Robert and Rosi  (Poole) Nelson.  She graduated from Aurora Public School in Aurora and Wayne State College.  Noreen married Keith Gould August 26, 1978, at Monroe Evangelical Free Church in Phillips.  The couple farmed near Laurel.  Noreen was a substitute teacher in Laurel, Newcastle, Wakefield, and Coleridge, and came to be loved by all the students.  She served Laurel United Methodist Church and Logan Center United Methodist Church as their secretary, organist, and Sunday-school teacher. Noreen was also a member of Gideon’s International-Concord Camp Auxiliary Chapter. Noreen’s first love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  She had an unwavering faith and a servant’s heart, always putting others needs before her own; her second love was for her family, making sure we all know how much she loves us and cares for every single one, especially her grandchildren; her third love  was the game of softball.  She loved to teach and coach young girls and it brought her so much joy to see them grow on and off the field.  Many have expressed how much of an influence and inspiration she was to them, impacting their lives in ways she couldn’t imagine.
Noreen is survived by her husband, Keith; their children, Brian  (Amy) Gould of Laurel and  Brett Gould of Laurel, Kacie (Chase) Maier of Mankato, MN, Felipe Companharo of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Francine Campanharo of Vitoria, Brazil; her mother,  Rosi Nelson of Phillips; four grandchildren, Danica, Leah, and Easton Gould, and Boone Maier; her brother, Nathan (Kristin) Nelson of Lincoln; her sister, Kim (Russ) McDonald of Omaha; and her mother-in-law, Helen Gould of Laurel.
Noreen was preceded in death by her father, Robert Nelson;  sister, Danise Nelson; and father-in-law, Howard Gould.
Noreen’s family appreciates your thoughts and kindness and invites you to lunch at the Laurel City Auditorium.
