Steven L. Bankson

Steven L. Bankson, 53, of Central City, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 as the result of an automobile accident between Central City and Clarks.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, January 30 at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Central City with Pastor Courtney Erkus officiating.  Private family inurnment will be at the Hordville Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the Grace Lutheran Church.  Condolences may be sent to the family at
Steven Lloyd Bankson was born on March 7, 1962 in York, to Dean and Vera (Knerr) Bankson.  
Steven grew up near Hordville and attended grade school at Hordville, and graduated from Aurora High School in 1980.  After graduation, Steven went to work on their family farm helping his father Dean.  He then went to work driving truck for a while.  He then started working for Jerry Beck, which is where he remained helping on his farm until his death.
Steven was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Hordville.  He enjoyed tinkering with things, including woodworking, and collecting toy tractors as well as his Sunday dinners at Dairy Queen.  He especially enjoyed any kind of auto racing, spending lots of time at Eagle Raceway and Junction Motor Speedway, in McCool Junction.  His greatest love was for his family and spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father and stepmother; Dean and Karen Bankson of Hordville, his siblings; Cindy (Bob) Williams of Mclouth, KS, Larry (Sally) Bankson of Hordville, Cheri Brostowicz of New Braunfels, TX, and Brian (Nadine) Bankson of Hampton, his nieces and nephews; Derek and Danae Williams, Keith and Brianna Bankson, Andrew Brostowicz, and Tyler and Travis Bankson and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Vera Bankson and brother-in-law; Dave Brostowicz.
