PPRI hits goal for Sherman land

The late Tom Sherman’s dream that his scenic 650 acres along a mile-long Platte River frontage would be preserved and shared for future generations is becoming a reality.
Just over 18 months after Sherman died, the Prairie Plains Resource Institute announced this week that it has successfully raised the $1.8 million needed to purchase the land and will now begin focusing on ways to both share its wondrous beauty and learn from its natural resources. Final closing is expected in late February.
