Willard Klawonn, age 91, of Aurora, formerly of Hampton, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2015, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 11 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Jim Gruber will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5–7 p.m., Sunday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 381 H Street in Hampton. Memorials may be made to Hampton Lutheran School. Willard Earl Klawonn, the son of Bernard Paul and Alma (Salchow) Klawonn, was born near Bradshaw, on July 27, 1924 and passed away in Aurora, on January 5, 2016, at the age of 91.
Willard was baptized on September 7, 1924 and confirmed on March 7, 1940 at Zion Lutheran Church by Pastor Graebner. Willard attended grade school near Bradshaw.  He worked on the family farm and later worked at Swift & Co. in Omaha and the Fairmont Army Air Base.
On July 28, 1946, Willard married Wanda Joan Wall at St. Peter Lutheran Church at Hampton. After their marriage, Willard was employed by Miller Electric in York and in 1947, Willard and Wanda moved from York to the farm near Hampton where more than 63 years were spent together. He loved the farm and his cattle and enjoyed farm life.  One son, Kevin, was born on November 23, 1953.  Wanda passed away on April 24, 2014.
Willard was a member of St. Peter’s congregation.  He held various church offices and was a school board member at the time Hampton Lutheran School became a reality.  Though a quiet person, he lived a simple life, but loved having the family and grandchildren at his home.  Willard enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow up and enjoyed hearing them tell of their interests.  Willard’s hobby was raising his calves and cows and caring for them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Melvina Hilligas and Dorothy McHenry and two brothers, Arthur and Harold Klawonn.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his son, Kevin (Miriam) Klawonn of Hampton; 2 grandchildren, Jason K. Klawonn of Hampton, Janet (Joshua) Steager; sister, Elva Wall of Aurora; 3 step-grandchildren, Alycia (Brian) Litz of Grand Island, Chelsy (Darius) Tellez of Bellevue and Luke Jurgensen of Hampton; 4 step great-grandchildren, Ethan Litz and Olivia, Sophia and Jovia Tellez and several nieces and nephews.
