Services for Myron Conrad Frevert, 90, of Norfolk will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk with the Rev. Chip Winter officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at the Bloomfield City Cemetery in Bloomfield on Monday.
Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Sunday, also at the funeral home. Military Rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4996, American Legion Post 249, of Bloomfield, and United States Army Honors Guard.
Myron entered into eternal rest on August 18, 2015 at the Stanton Health Center in Stanton NE.
Myron Conrad Frevert was born January 19, 1925 to William and Elsie (Wrick) Frevert at Wausa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended rural schools completing 8th grade and then helped his mother on the family farm south of Bloomfield. He entered the Army on March 13, 1945 and served until March 11, 1946. Myron married Joyce Merchen on June 16, 1951 at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. They settled on the family farm south of Bloomfield where they raised their family. They had five children: Lauren (Jim) Millikan, children Matthew and Jed; Gayle Frevert; Claire Frevert; Mark Frevert, children Chad and Kari; Jolene (Jeff Neal) Frevert.
Myron was a lifelong farmer, starting with horse-drawn equipment and incorporating new equipment and technology as farming evolved. He was a member of the American Legion, National Farmer’s Organization and served on the Bloomfield School Board. He and Joyce retired in 1989 and moved to Norfolk. Myron was an active member of First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield and Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
He is survived by four daughters, Lauren (Jim) Millikan, Gayle Frevert, all of Norfolk, Claire Frevert of Aurora, and Jolene Frevert (Jeff Neal) of Topeka, KS. Myron has four grandchildren Matthew (Stacy) Millikan, Jed (Julie) Millikan, Chad Brummels, and Kari (Tyler) Tunink. There are six great-grandchildren: Tanner and Connor Millikan; Travis, Kayla and Ashlynn Millikan; and Breanne Tunink.
He is also survived by brothers and sisters in-law: Rose Marie Kolar, Alice June (Donald) Gilsdorf, Fern (Roger) Nohr, JoAnn (Alvin) Kuper, Connie (Norman) Rentschler, and Neal (Gloria Sax) Merchen and many nieces and nephews.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; son, Mark; parents; parents in-law, Fred and Leona Merchen; brothers, sisters and in-laws; Vernelle and Alvin Mumm, Eunice Dalton, Dale and Valerie Frevert, Wesley and Marjorie Frevert; Marvin and Marilyn Merchen and Francis Kolar.
Pall Bearers will be Matthew Millikan, Jed Millikan, Chad Brummels, Kari Tunink, Travis Millikan, and Tyler Tunink. Honorary Pall Bearers will be Stacy, Tanner & Connor Millikan, Julie, Kayla and Ashlynn Millikan, and Breanne Tunink.
