Dianne Gimpel, age 77, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Memorial Hospital.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 13 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Rev. Karl Larson will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Dianne Joyce Gimpel, the daughter of Nels and Ada (Munn) Bossen, was born at Grand Island, on June 18, 1937 and passed away in Aurora, on April 8, 2015, at the age of 77.
She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in 1957.  
Dianne was married to Robert Arthur Gimpel on August 23, 1959 at Grand Island. They lived on the family farm south of Aurora, where they farmed until 1995. Bob passed away on November 16, 2010.
Dianne was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church and the Covenant Church Quilt Club. She was a member of the Big Red Tractor Club and the Lone Tree Tractor Club in Central City.  Dianne and Bob enjoyed watching their sons, grandson and nephews race stock cars at Mid-Nebraska Speedway. She loved her cats and going to auctions.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, grandson, Cody Harde, sister, Maxine Whiting and niece, Adele.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four children, Greg (Leanne) Gimpel of Aurora, Jeff Gimpel of Giltner, Dale Gimpel of Omaha and Sharon (William) Brooks of Omaha; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers-in-law, Garry (Arlene) Gimpel and Larry (Elaine) Gimpel, all of Aurora and two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Decker of Grand Island and Lucille Thompsen of Aurora.
