Wochner nails seven 3-pointers but Hampton still loses

Hampton freshman guard Cain Wochner was living beyond the arc Monday night in the first game of the boys Kenesaw Holiday Tournament, nailing seven triples on his way to scoring a team-leading 22 points. But that wasn't enough as the Hawks fell to Harvard 42-36 in a tight contest down the stretch. Hampton will play on Tuesday afternoon around 3:45 p.m. in the boys consolation game against the loser of Kenesaw and Wilcox-Hildreth. For a more detailed story of the game to see how Harvard defended Hampton to cause problems as well as thoughts on the game from first-year head coach Sam Newmyer, grab an issue of the News-Register on Wednesday.
