Giltner holds off Meridian with late touchdown pass

Class D-2's no. 7-ranked Giltner Hornets sustained blow after blow from the Meridian Mustangs Friday night in Giltner and held on to win 52-42. The play that sealed the win for Giltner came

with 40 seconds left in the game when senior quarterback Ben Hinrichs found junior receiver Brett Good for a touchdown on fourth-and-7, giving the Hornets a decisive 10-point lead with 32 seconds remaining. Meridian had no timeouts left to stop the clock on its ensuing drive, and a failed hook-and-latter play was stopped near midfield to give Giltner the win on Homecoming Night.
