Grampsy was born on June 7, 1945 to parents Milton and Violet (Bamesberger) Stettner.   He graduated from Hampton High School in 1963 and shortly after married his “country sunshine” Barbara Kay Roehrs on August 8, 1965.   He then proudly served in the National Guard for six years.
A few years later (or as he would say “back when Hector was a pup”), he purchased his first tractor-trailer and started his own business, Stettner Inc. Trucking.   Larry’s passion for the trucking industry was so much more than 18 wheelers but rather building relationships with local farmers, vendors, and his dedicated drivers.
Although a dedicated BUL HULR, Grampsy always prioritized his faith and family first.   He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church for many years.
Larry had many hobbies including goat ranching, hog farming, wine drinking, and gator rides with the grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bruce Stettner in 1980.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Barbara Stettner of Hampton; son, Ricky Stettner of Hampton; daughter, Shawna (Greg) Agena of Goehner and 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Liz) Friesen of Hampton, Collin (Heather) Friesen of Goehner, Cy (Chandra) Friesen of Hampton, Taylor (Ramie) Spencer of Grand Island and Taryn Stettner of Hampton and 9 great-grandchildren, Addison Friesen, Elliott Friesen, Georgia Friesen, Skylar Friesen, Bentley Hagan, Kynzler Friesen, Jencyn Friesen, Payton Spencer and Saylor Spencer and many other relatives and friends.
