Myrtle Ruth Ehn - April 04, 2014

Myrtle Ruth Ehn, 92, of Central City, died at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island on Friday, April 4, 2014. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 8 at 2 p.m. at the Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Central City with Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church. Interment is in the Polk Cemetery. Solt Funeral Home of Central City is in charge of the arrangements. Myrtle was born on Oct. 1, 1921, near Polk to Gust Adolph and Anna Matilda (Swanson) Ehn. She grew up in the Polk area and was educated at District 65 Polk County School. Her family moved to Green City, Missouri where they lived until 1946. They returned to Polk and Myrtle worked in child care and was a housekeeper for local families. She moved to Central City in 1958 and worked at Stines Cleaners for 20 years and then at Bethesda Care Center. After retiring, she continued to live in Central City.
Myrtle was a member of the Heartland Evangelical Free Church in Central City, the White Cross Group, she held Bible studies in her home and in recent years attended Bible study in the home of Evelyn Erickson. She participated in all activities at the Central City Senior Center and at Bader Villa. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, puzzles and she loved to bake and was known for her fruit cakes.
Those left to cherish her memory are several cousins, including Ed Erickson and Evelyn Erickson, both of Central City.
Preceding Myrtle in death were her parents, sister - Bernice Ehn; brother - Marvin Ehn; and sister-in-law - Doris Ehn.
