Ingeborg Beyer - February 06, 2014Ingeborg Beyer, age 99, of Aurora, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Memorial Community Care.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kronborg. Rev. Brian Krause officiated. Interment was in the St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation was from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14th at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Ingeborg Karen Holst Beyer, the daughter of Jens Adam and Jensine (Larsen) Holst, was born at Ludington, Mich. on Dec. 2, 1914 and passed away in Aurora, Nebr. on Feb. 6, 2014, at the age of 99.
Ingeborg’s father was a pastor so she grew up in many towns including Clinton, Iowa where she tutored a handicapped girl who became very special to her. Ingeborg graduated from Marquette High School after a year at Grand View College in Des Moines, Iowa.
Ingeborg returned to Marquette and was united in marriage to Donald Beyer on Oct. 4, 1936 at Kronborg. They farmed east of Marquette and north of Hampton. They were married 71 years before Donald passed away on Feb. 16, 2008.
Ingeborg enjoyed working with her hands doing knitting, crocheting, counted cross stitch and china painting. She was active in church work at St. John’s Lutheran Church and County Extension work for Hamilton County.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, daughter, Sharon Bintner; grandson, Paul Bintner and sisters, Dagny Jensen and Rigmor Nissen.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Ann (Harald) Sorensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; granddaughter Hope (Todd) Spuzello of Des Moines, Iowa, grandsons Jeff (Deanna) Sorensen of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mike Sorensen of Phoenix, Ariz.; four great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother Don (LaVonne) Holst and brother-in-law, Erling Jensen.
