Larry W. Fagan - January 22, 2014


Larry W. Fagan, age 75, of Hampton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Michael Patzloff will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church 1104 A Street. Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church. Larry W. Fagan, the son of Joe E. and Minnie (Weller) Fagan, was born on a farm North of Hampton, Nebraska on Oct. 22, 1938. He spent his life farming and feeding cattle. Larry passed away in Hampton, Nebraska on Jan. 22, 2014, at the age of 75.
He grew up on a farm North of Hampton. Larry attended country school, District #51 and then graduated from Aurora High School with the Class of 1956.
On March 16, 1958, he was united in marriage to Karen E. Hyde. They celebrated their 55th anniversary in 2013. They lived on the farm with Larry working in partnership with his father and later his son. He enjoyed his work always! Larry also enjoyed the young men who worked with him. His real joy was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their activities.
Larry was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and served on various committees, including the building of the new church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, infant brother, Dale Glade; sister, Joan; and granddaughters, Cassidy Karen Fagan Peterson, Leah Quinn & Brynlee Ann Vogel.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen of Hampton; two children, Marvin Joe (Teresa) Fagan of Hampton and Sandra (Bob) Peterson of Grand Island; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
