Wilbur Peters - January 07, 2013

Wilbur Peters, age 83, of Aurora, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Memorial Community Care in Aurora.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Pastor Jim Voth will officiate. Interment will be in the Bethesda Cemetery at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Wilbur Ervin Peters, the son of Dietrich and Emma (Epp) Peters, was born in Aurora on July 15, 1930.
Wilbur grew up on the farm south of Aurora and attended District 85 country school through the eighth grade. He then began working on the family farm.
On June 5, 1951, Wilbur was united in marriage to Marian Wiebe at Henderson. Following their marriage they lived south of Aurora, where Wilbur continued to farm. Wilbur also worked for Henderson Well Drilling and the Cyclonaire Corporation in addition to his farming. They moved to Henderson in 1992, where he continued to work for Cyclonaire Corporation and in September 2012 they moved to Aurora.
Wilbur was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Peters, grandson, Jacob Peters, brother, Marvin D. Peters and sister, Loretta Peters.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Marian of Aurora; son, Gary (Shari) Peters of Aurora; daughter, Cheryl (Bob) Ratzlaff of Henderson; grandsons, Jerod and Dalton Peters of Aurora; brothers, Delmar (Sherry) Peters and Victor (Pearl Marie) Peters; sister, Erma Goertzen and other family members and friends.
