Roslyn Andrews - December 10, 2013

Roslyn ‘Roz’ Andrews, age 87, of Aurora, died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. The Rev. Michael Patzloff will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Aurora United Methodist Church. Roslyn Marie Andrews, the daughter of Walter and Emma Pauline (Grossmann) Beyer, was born at Belleville, Ill., on April 14, 1926.
Roz grew up and graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1944. Following her graduation she managed the classified advertising department at the Daily Advocate in Belleville for eight years.
Roz was united in marriage to Ward Andrews on June 14, 1952, in Belleville, Ill. Following their marriage they lived in Illinois until 1959, when they moved to Abilene, Kan. In 1965 they moved to Aurora, where they owned the Ben Franklin store until their retirement in 1985.
Roz was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, where she served as President of the church circles. She was also a member of the Aurora Chapter of P.E.O. and the Aurora Country Club. She enjoyed playing bridge, and they especially enjoyed spending their winters in Green Valley, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kerry Andrews.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ward Andrews of Aurora; sons, Kent E. Andrews of Oakland, Calif., and Keith S. (Vicki) Andrews of Pearland, Texas; daughter-in-law, Linda J. Andrews of York; grandchildren, Ben (Melissa) Andrews and Tessa and Taylor Andrews; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Caleb Andrews.
