Scott Pierce - November 15, 2013

Scott Pierce, age 49, of Marquette, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m.
November 20 at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Fred Paxton will officiate. A Lunch will follow at the Community Center in Marquette. Scott Eugene Pierce, the son of John and Betty Jo (Quirk) Pierce, was born in Ogallala on Jan. 23, 1964.
Scott grew up in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army Reserve for six years. Scott returned and worked as a cook for a time, then worked at Bonnavilla. Scott worked at Case New Holland in Grand Island for the last 24-plus years doing various jobs, but most recently as a painter.
On May 6, 2000, Scott was united in marriage to Angela Hopkins at Grand Island.
Scott was very active. He served on the Marquette improvement and repair committee and had coached Little League baseball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, playing cards with family and friends, cooking, car shopping, four-wheeling, movies, grilling, motorcycle riding, enjoyed listening to music and Nebraska football.
He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Steven Pierce.
Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela Pierce of Marquette; son, Brandon Pierce of Marquette; father and stepmother, John and Frances Pierce of Roanoke, Va.; three siblings, Vicki Oonk of Surprise, Ariz., Cheryl Pittenger of Silvane, Wash., and Denise Arnold of San Pablo, Calif., and other relatives and close friends.
